Borger Chamber of Commerce 2021 “Hats off to you” Banquet

The Borger Chamber of Commerce “Hats off to You” Banquet was held on Thursday evening at the Borger Community Activity Center at Frank Phillips College.

The evening started with Jesse Shuffield with the Borger Chamber of Commerce welcoming attendees to the banquet. “Welcome to the 2020-21 Chamber of Commerce Banquet. We thank each of you for joining together for a special time to honor our community. It has been a year... stressful-but you- our businesses-have prevailed,” said Shuffield.

“We want to applaud you, and we say “Hats off to You” for your service to the Borger community and beyond.”

Shuffield then thanked the 2020-2021 banquet committee for their pre-preparation for tonight’s event. Banquet committee members were Misty Bible, Nathan Allison, Sarah Archer, Taryn Fraley, Ronae Bunn, and Gloria Bunn.

Also honored at Thursday’s banquet were retiring Borger Chamber of Commerce Board Members: Derek Thompson, Sara Ramby, Ronae Bunn, and Theron Baker.

Incoming Borger Chamber of Commerce Board Members for 2021-2022 are Mike Scales-Chairman, Wes Hukill-Incoming Chair-Elect, Mark O’Neill-Treasurer, Misty Bible, Taryn Fraley, Don Bates, Brittany Walters, Mike Dykhouse, Aaron Capilla, Nathan Allison, Eric Schneck, Steve Kelley, Sheri Friemel, Sarah Archer, and Ex-Officio Members: Garrett Spradling, Cindy Irwin, Jackie Brand, Rebecca Calder, and Jesse Shuffield.

Entertainment was then provided for the attendees by Borger Community Theatre under the direction of Artistic Director Don Bates. Entertainers were: Kelci Courtney, Brooklyn Cano, and Kandee Ooley.

Following the entertainment Red Coat of the Year for 2020 was awarded to Theron Baker and for 2021 to Ronae Bunn.

The banquet ended with the naming of Charles “Pete” Loftis as the 2021 Borger Citizen of the Year.
