Farmers Market Saturday

Do you love fresh fruits and vegetables and homemade treats? Then head over to the Farmers & Makers Market this Saturday, June 19, at Wanda Klause Park in Borger. Here you’ll find an array of fresh produce, homemade items, locally made crafts, and decor from local artists. “We want to make the community better and bring sustainable produce and local entrepreneurs (to the area),” said Nicole McChesney, market coordinator.

The market will run throughout the summer months with upcoming markets: June 19, July 10, July 24, August 7, and August 21.

For this week’s market, 10-15 vendors are scheduled to attend with their local goods.

This week the market will also be hosting a special raffle for Borger natives Pierce & Alyssa Martin. Pierce was recently injured in a motorcycle accident. A raffle will be held for custom corn hole boards & bags. The cost will be 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. “Tote sales for the day will also be donated to the Martin Family,” added Nicole.

Volunteers are still needed to help make these events successful and keep them going. “If you are interested in local entrepreneurs, we would love to make you a part of the team,” said Nicole.

The Farmers and Makers Market will be located at Wanda Klause Park in the 500 block of N. Main Street in Borger. Market hours are 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Vendor spots are still available free of charge. For vendor spots or to volunteer, contact Nicole on the Farmers & Makers Facebook page.
