Jimmy D. “Jim” Scroggins

Jimmy D. “Jim” Scroggins, 80, died Saturday June 12, 2021 in Borger. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday June 22, 2021 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Tom Lapacka, Pastor and Rev. Troy Scroggins Pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dumas officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Jim will lie in state Friday morning until his service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 Monday evening.

Jimmy was born February 1, 1941 in Ada, OK to Carmon Scroggins and Verna Hazel House Scroggins. He was the owner of Jim’s Bearing and Supply until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He was the president of the Borger Bass Club and dearly loved to fish. He married Linda Diane Widener January 20, 1963 in the Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a member.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Kenneth, Paul, Ronnie and Carl.

Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years Diane, his four sons Jimmy Scroggins and his wife Christine of Phoenix, AZ, Rev. Troy Scroggins of Dumas, David Scroggins and his wife Audrea of Amarillo and Clint Scroggins of Borger, his four grandchildren Spencer, Miles, Reagan and Madison, his two sisters Joyce Green and her husband Larry of San Angelo and Rose Seals of Andrews and numerous neices and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or your favorite charity in honor of Jimmy D. Scroggins.
