Lake Meredith Fishing report

By: Dave Wright

· BASS- Great: Largemouth and small mouth bass are still being caught in shallow areas in most of the coves. Chartreuse colored grubs and crankbaits are catching good amounts of fish.

· CATFISH- Good: Shallow areas near Martins Canyon seem to be best with chicken liver, minnows, and stink bait.

Jugging with Perch, shrimp and cut bait are bringing in limits. We have had reports of catfish being caught underneath the docks at Sanford Yake on minnows and live perch.

· CRAPPIE- Good: Bugbee and other cove areas, and along the banks. (5ft-35ft). They are biting on minnows and chartreuse jigs. Reports show schooling around major drop-offs and submerged brush around 5-15 feet deep.

Live minnows on a crappie rig with size 6 Aberdeen hook are a great choice for tackle.

· PERCH- Great: Perch are mostly being caught under docks and in shallow areas along the banks.

· WALLEYE- Good: Walleye are biting heavily on live rosey red minnows, hot pink grubs, and dark green jointed shad-raps. Most of the bigger fish being caught are coming from cove areas with quick drop-offs.

Sanford Yake Docks, and rattlesnake (arrowhead) island are beginning to show schooling of bigger fish.
