Borger Police Department arrests 2 on Meth charges

On the morning of May 24th, officers with the Borger Police Department stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of 9th and Dixon Street. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Xavier Cunningham, exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

He was pursued by officers who took him into custody for evading arrest or detention. The male passenger in the vehicle, was identified as Christopher Istre. During the investigation, the

driver admitted to possessing a large amount of methamphetamine inside of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted, and the methamphetamine identified by the driver as being in the vehicle was located. The total amount of methamphetamine was 1.008 pounds.

Cunningham was charged with evading arrest or detention, as well as possession of a controlled substance greater than 400 grams. Istre was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a controlled substance greater than 400 grams. Both subjects were booked into the Hutchinson County Jail.
