Hawk of the Year

Mona Hendrickson Fannon was named “Hawk of the Year” for 2022 at the recent Phillips Blackhawk Reunion. Mike Webb, President of the Phillips Alumni Association, made the presentation.

According to Mike Webb, "Mona Hendrickson Fannon, Class of 1975, is our "Hawk of the Year" for 2022. She currently serves as our Public Relations and Publicity Chair. She makes sure everyone knows the most current updates about our Phillips Blackhawks Alumni events. She goes beyond the call of duty to represent the Alumni. She helps wherever it is needed. She also is on our scholarship committee. The Phillips Alumni Association funds more than 20+ scholarships to Frank Phillips College. We are currently raising funds for the Bill and Flora Cox memorial scholarship. Mona along with other scholarship committee members will attend the Scholarship Banquet at FPC, October 11.”

Fannon said that she was honored to be recognized as "Hawk of the Year."

“This really means the world to me. I always try to keep our spirit alive through our reunions, Heritage Center, and scholarship program. Once a Blackhawk, Always a Blackhawk! If you have not been able to tour our Heritage Center, take time to do so. We had many donations throughout the year. We had several visitors this year during the reunion. We are so proud of it. Orange and Black Forever!!!”

Fannon said, “Thank you again to the Phillips Alumni for this recognition. It is a pleasure to serve the Phillips Blackhawks Alumni.”
